About PURE

Pure is a next-generation platform providing timely, unbiased service for tenants, property owners, and property managers.

We're removing (or reducing) time-consuming tasks for property managers, while ensuring owners get paid on time, and tenants receive efficient service and safe, pleasant accommodation.

Our group is small today, but growing. We like others who are passionate about their craft and enjoy collaborating with others, and seeing their contributions through to production and the impact they have on our users.

About the Role

We're looking for experienced software engineers who enjoy seeing the impact of their ideas and their actions on users. We operate a lightweight agile development process and give our team the freedom and autonomy to do the right thing, and the support to validate their ideas and carry them forward to production.

You enjoy:

  • Working closely with design, product, and other engineers to hone ideas and concepts.
  • Working across a modern full-stack, utilizing Nuxt and VueJS, Javascript, Typescript, GraphQL, Docker, MongoDB, Postgres..
  • Doing more than just writing code; contributing to the business as a whole.

You have:

  • Strong communication skills in addition to your coding ability.
  • An appreciation and skill writing tests; we value well tested, well factored code and enjoy TDD as a practice to help with that.
  • Aligned values of ownership, empathy for our users; tenants, property owners, and property managers, and your co-workers.

Engineering Timeline

Within 1 month, you will

  • Develop and deploy changes to our production systems.
  • Collaborate regularly with your fellow engineers, and product lead to deliver value to our users.
  • Get regular team feedback on your code through code reviews and pair-programming.

Within 3 months, you will

  • Focus on code quality with meaningful test coverage and legibility.
  • Contribute to our agile culture through retrospective meetings and more.

Within 6 months, you will

  • Coordinate product dependencies and lead major features through development to production.
  • Take point on significant new functionality and/or platform improvements.

Within 12 month, you will

  • Fight with a light-saber.

Compensation

We aim to pay a competitive base salary, and additional performance-related component. This role is also eligible for startup-appropriate equity awards based on factors such as experience, contribution and performance.

Our values

While we're a new company, we know we value the following:

  • User empathy - our users define our business. We believe we can build better products by listening to their needs, understanding their motivations, and building tools to address them.

  • Freedom and responsibility - we aim to provide you with the tools and support you need to carry ideas through to fruition. With that, we expect you to be diligent in your work and learn from your mistakes to optimize final outcomes.

  • Team support - Team support - growing a business is a team sport. We're looking for people who approach problems with an open mind, express empathy for others, and consider the impact of their words and actions.
